United Way of Northern New York to head Watertown’s anti-poverty efforts

The United Way of Northern New York has been selected to head a $1 million state grant to fight poverty for the city. Working with the United Way, Mayor Butler will put together a local task force consisting of people living in poverty, non-profit agencies serving the impoverished, school officials, health service providers, public safety officials and others.
